“A gray Wolf not so gray” is a work created by the talented artist Gonzalo Alvarez. In this piece, Gonzalo immerses us in the fascinating world of the gray wolf (Canis lupus), a species of placental mammal that has faced the threat of extinction due to various human activities, such as indiscriminate hunting.

In the past, wolves were distributed throughout North America, Eurasia, and the Middle East, but currently they are in danger and inhabit a limited portion of their original territory.

The wolf is the largest canid today and as a predator it is found in a variety of ecosystems, possessing great adaptability as a species, inhabiting forests, mountains, tundras, taigas, and prairies.

Through his character TANGO, Gonzalo invites children to explore and understand the behaviors of wolves, highlighting their deep respect for nature and their life in packs. Additionally, Gonzalo seeks to enrich children’s experience by introducing them to the universe of tango, the iconic music and dance of Argentina. With this proposal, the aim is not only to educate about wolves and their importance in the ecosystem, but also to foster appreciation for Argentine culture and traditional music.

Through “A gray Wolf not so gray,” Gonzalo Alvarez invites us to reflect on the importance of conserving this species and to promote love and respect for nature in the new generations. A work that combines art, education, and environmental awareness in a creative and enriching way!
